kind of miss my Panhead in the pre paint 16 rear 18 front phase.. the 21 avon just seems to ride better with the springer on the highway though or maybe after switching the front to the rear and then putting the 21 on that I was just too lazy to bother switching it back. It''s all just apples and oranges now till I get a magneto .. I gave up on Batteries after my 4th one bit the farm in 6 months. I also should have switched it over to 12 volt when I had the chance.. but I kept it 6volt .. the 6 volt Harley batteries are garbage... the last one I got died after 2 weeks. Keeping some of the old stock stuff is nice if you don't really ride the bike that much. If you do .. you quickly realize 3 brush Generators are crap.. chain primaries need to be tightened all the time.. 6volt bulbs are a pain in the ass because you can't always find them when you need them and there's no reason to risk getting stuck somewhere on account of some cheap ass battery dieing when you can go with a magneto.
This is one my favorite photos I took of it.

scrambler

Had to go downtown last night.. usually I wont even bother if I can't ride since I hate dealing with parking. Got lucky, it wasn't raining so I took out the old scrambler. I haven't been riding it all that much and lately have been half assedly trying to sell it. I forgot how much fun it was to ride. A 400x19 front feels like a motocross tire in comparison to a 300x21 avon . There's a short and moderately steep hill near my house with a lip at the top. It's good for a little air every time on this bike if you just keep the throttle on up it. I can't say the same for my boat anchor Panhead as I've yet to get even the front end off the ground on the same hill.

the little things..

I shot this Hawgholic Knuckle for Dice the day after it won the Mooneyes show last year but it showed up in so many magazines at the same time that it had a bit of magazine overexposure and Dice never ran the photos. I love this bike and all the little details that Gak put into it. You really have to see his bikes up close to fully appreciate them.
In Davenport Gak told me about one of the bikes he's bringing to Mooneyes this year.. I can't wait to see it. I think people will be freaking out on it just like they were this bike last year.
